The purpose of the Health, Innovation & Research, LLC website is to empower and protect healthcare consumers through proactive information, that may not be found in other settings. It supports consumers being active partners in protecting themselves & loved ones in the healthcare and other setting (e.g. checklists identifying best practice).                                                                        

ARE OUR HEALTH SYSTEMS KEEPING UP OR LAGGING BEHIND?                                   

HEALTH à WHY DO WE CARE?
We care because we want to continue to , see the sunset , hear the ocean waves crash , feel the warmth of the sun… , we want to hear our children laugh, feel an embrace of a partner, watch as our family lovingly talks to each other…, see our son get up to bat for a baseball game, see our sister graduate from college, see our daughter in the school play…. , See, hear, feel

 To experience the moments of life!

In order to experience those moments, we not only need to take care of ourselves, our families, our communities, and the world…. We need others to care for us with the highest level of evidence-based quality health care and do so in a compassionate manner.

 Does the healthcare system you look to for healthcare provide you compassionate care as well as evidence-based high technology care? Is the care efficient and coordinated so the time you spend in their system is minimized - so you can be out living and doing what you want to versus spending time trying to coordinate your own care – calling repetitively to resolve billing issues?

 How might such health care look like?  DARE TO DREAM

 
GOALS OF HEALTH, INNOVATION & RESEARCH are to provide:

·         Consumers a forum to voice their health experience(s) & what they need from health care   

      systems, so healthcare systems are aware & can fulfill those needs

·         Consumers information to protect they and their families health

·         Healthcare systems approaches to consumer health care – approaches that exist, however 

      have not been adopted in a particular health care system

 
Thoughts/Questions:

• Why does one health care system have x…. and another has y… could/should one not get the best of all worlds, best practices in any setting where health care is sought? 
• Buying health care should not be like buying a car, where one ends up settling because you just can’t get all the features you want in a healthcare system or health services. 
• And do I as the consumer even really know the differences between health systems, how do I know where I can get the best care?
• Does competition among healthcare systems foster higher or lower health care price; or better health care?
• Through consumers talking about their experiences healthcare systems may listen and therefore act to change their systems.
• What are my or my family’s risks in entering the healthcare system and how can I eliminate or decrease those risks
